Man Fatally Shot in Robbery Try
A man was shot to death Friday evening during a robbery attempt at a neighborhood market at 327 S. Lemon St., police said.
Anaheim officers provided few details about the incident and did not identify the victim. But a dispatcher at the Orange County Communications Center said the man was believed to have been shot in the head and chest by two men who then fled in a car.
Anaheim police said they were looking for a white Nissan 280ZX carrying several people. There was no immediate pursuit of the suspects.
Anaheim Police Desk Sgt. Patti Wasielewski said she did not know if the victim was an employee or a customer at the store, called Ibero America Market, or whether money was taken. The incident took place about 6:50 p.m.
