CAMARILLO : Boy in Hospital After He Nearly Drowned
A 2-year-old boy was in critical condition Friday after he nearly drowned in the back-yard swimming pool of a Camarillo house, authorities said.
Byron Fahme was taken to the emergency room of Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo and then flown by helicopter to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, Sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Lazz said.
Byron was left unattended for a few moments and apparently wandered out of the house in the 100 block of Ramona Drive about 8 a.m. Thursday, Lazz said. He was found in the shallow end of the pool, the officer said.
The Ventura County Fire Department and an ambulance service responded to the call and administered first aid, Lazz said.
A Childrens Hospital spokeswoman said she did not know if the child suffered brain damage.
