Jerome Hines to Take Over ‘Pelleas’ Role

Veteran American basso Jerome Hines will sing the role of Arkel in the Long Beach Opera production of Debussy’s “Pelleas et Melisande” in scheduled performances of the opera, April 24 and 26 at 8 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. in Center Theatre at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Hines replaces Will Roy, who is recovering from injuries suffered in an auto accident earlier this year.
The rest of the cast, including Israeli soprano Michal Schimar and American tenor James Schisow in the title roles, and Neil Howlett as Golaud, remains the same.
