Mariah Carey still tops Billboard magazine’s pop album chart with her debut album, “Mariah Carey,” but in the next few weeks, she’ll probably have to withstand a surge by Wilson Phillips. This pop vocal trio’s album--also its first--should rise again now that the its single, “You’re in Love,” has moved to the top of the pop singles chart. A boost from this single may vault the album “Wilson Phillips” into the top spot. The hottest new album on the chart is Rod Stewart’s “Vagabond Heart,” which jumped from No. 61 to No. 20. “Coolin’ at the Playground Ya’ Know!,” by the subteen soul group Another Bad Creation,” moved up five notches to No. 17.

* The Rolling Stones’ live album “Flashpoint” debuted at No. 39. It might have gotten off to a faster start if the group’s war-related single, “Highwire,” had done better. But that single, which sank to No. 96 this week, flopped.
