State Places FGS Insurance in Conservatorship: The state Insurance Department assumed a conservatorship over the FGS Insurance Agency after lawyers for Commissioner John Garamendi successfully sought to vacate a temporary restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court against sale of the agency to CSI Insurance. Even if some assets belong to CSI, any purchase funds it pays to the FGS owners will now be in control of the state.
