THRASH CLASH: Get out your earplugs, dudes! In what’s being touted as the thrash-rock triple-header of the summer, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth are hitting the road May 16 in Dallas for a 50-city summer tour billed as “Clash of the Titans.” All three groups will share headlining duties. In fact, arrive early--a different band will open each night. The tour is slated to reach L.A. May 25 at the Pacific Amphitheatre. . . . The summer’s hottest alternative music caravan is “Lollapalooza,” an all-day rock concert and arts festival that begins July 19 in Phoenix. Organized by Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, whose band will headline, the show is slated to feature a rainbow coalition of pop acts, including Siouxsie & the Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Ice-T and the BH Surfers. The 20-date road show should hit L.A. July 21 for three dates at a yet-to-be-determined location. . . . And Dread Zeppelin is hitting the road on a double-bill with Mojo Nixon. The I.R.S. acts start their tour May 14 in Minneapolis and will arrive in Los Angeles sometime in June.
