California IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : Gunman Wounded in Police Shootout

A gunman invaded an electronics plant shortly before 2 a.m., firing several shots inside the factory before being wounded by officers during a confrontation in the company’s parking lot, authorities said. It was the fifth officer-involved shooting in San Jose over the past month. The man was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition. Police Sgt. Greg Trapp said none of the estimated 34 employees working on the 24-hour assembly line at Array Technology were injured.
