Arcadia : Unanimous Vote for Mayor
Charles Gilb was appointed mayor Tuesday and Robert C. Harbicht was chosen as mayor pro tem in the rotating one-year terms.
The council voted unanimously for Gilb, who replaced Mary B. Young. He is the only council member appointed mayor four times. The council split 3 to 2, however, in voting for mayor pro tem. Councilmen George W. Fasching and Joseph Ciraulo, who were elected last year, voted against Harbicht.
Gilb, 66, a Los Angeles produce distributor, is beginning his 16th year on the council.
Harbicht, 50, who is starting his sixth year on the council, is president of a marketing research consulting firm. He served as mayor during 1988 and 1989.
