San Diego
A 13-year-old East San Diego boy is being held in Juvenile Hall after shooting a 39-year-old man with a handgun in the Talmadge area, a San Diego police spokesman said Thursday.
Clinton Mitchell was shot twice in the back and once in the arm shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 4200 block of Altadena Avenue near Orange Avenue, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
When police arrived, they found two 13-year-olds at the scene, Robinson said. One is believed to be a witness, and the other is suspected of shooting Mitchell and will face a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Police said the shooting may have been drug-related.
Mitchell, who lives in the 3000 block of Webster Avenue, is listed in serious but stable condition at Mercy Hospital.
