Hockey and football--sports usually not associated with Southern California in April--provide the events that figure to attract the most TV sports viewers this weekend.

The Kings seek to take a 2-0 lead over the Stanley Cup champion Edmonton Oilers in their Smythe Division Final. Prime Ticket’s coverage from the sold-out Forum begins at 7:30 tonight.

The St. Louis Blues try to even their Norris Division Final against the Minnesota North Stars at 5:30 p.m. today on SportsChannel.

Sunday, SportsChannel joins game three of the Adams Division Final between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens in progress at 5 p.m. and has delayed coverage of game three of the Pittsburgh Penguins-New Jersey Devils Patrick Division Final at 7:30 p.m.

Football: ESPN’s 6 1/2 hours of coverage of the 56th NFL draft opens at 9 a.m. Sunday. Barring late trades, the Rams have the fifth pick, the San Diego Chargers choose 10th and the Raiders 25th. In the World League of American Football, the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks visit the Frankfurt Galaxy (11 a.m. today, USA); the San Antonio Riders play host to the Barcelona Dragons (5 p.m. today, USA) and the Orlando Thunder face the Birmingham Fire (noon Sunday, Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42).

Baseball: The disappointing Dodgers and the struggling Darryl Strawberry continue their four-game series against the San Diego Padres at 7 p.m. tonight and 1 p.m. Sunday. KTTV Channel 11 and San Diego Cable Sports will carry both contests. CBS (Channels 2 and 8) opens its major league baseball coverage at 10 a.m. today with the Detroit Tigers meeting the Chicago White Sox at new Comiskey Park. ESPN’s 5 p.m. Sunday game matches the New York Mets and Montreal Expos.

Basketball: The Lakers close the regular season with games against the Utah Jazz (noon today, Channels 4, 36 and 39) and Seattle SuperSonics (7:30 p.m., Sunday Prime Ticket). The Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls are featured in NBC’s Sunday game, with coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. (Channels 4, 36 and 39).
