A man who burst into the offices of an Agoura Hills publisher and shot two lithographers--one fatally--before killing himself may have been enraged because his ex-girlfriend was dating one of the men, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Friday.

Ignatius N. Teresi, 26, of Westlake Village was identified by deputies as the man who entered Paisano Publications Thursday afternoon and fatally shot John Sacha, 24, of Granada Hills before turning the gun on himself. Alejandro Lopez, 43, was also injured in the hail of gunfire and was in critical condition in Westlake Village Community Hospital Friday afternoon.

Paisano Publications issues the 400,000-circulation Easyriders magazine, Tattoo magazine and several other specialty magazines. Deputy Hal Grant said Teresi is the son of Paisano’s publisher-owner, Joseph Teresi.

A prepared statement issued by the company described Ignatius Teresi as a former employee. Company spokesman Brian Wood refused to comment on the circumstances surrounding Ignatius Teresi’s departure from Paisano Publications. The statement expressed regret for the killings and asserted that they were “in no way related to the company or its publications.”

Wood said the dispute between Teresi and Sacha was “domestic,” and involved a woman who once worked at the magazine. Grant confirmed that the dispute might have involved Teresi’s ex-girlfriend.

Arthur Sacha said his son had been close friends with the young Teresi, and said his son “wouldn’t have infringed on someone’s girl.” He said he and his wife plan to “go over the past couple of years” to try to find some motive for the killing.
