Lawndale Plans Cleanup Week
Lawndale residents are invited to get rid of their hard-to-dispose-of junk during the biannual city cleanup week, Monday through April 28. Motor oil, building materials, auto parts and garden clippings will be accepted at the city disposal yard, 4722 Manhattan Beach Blvd. Paint and other hazardous materials will not be collected.
Residents must bring proof of residency and are required to enter on 159th Street near the railroad tracks.
The weeklong city cleanup will culminate Saturday at 9 a.m. in front of City Hall, when volunteers, including Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, will pick up trash along city streets.
