A man who may have committed several bank robberies last year held up a Clairemont Mesa bank Tuesday afternoon, escaping with $270 in cash, San Diego police officials said.

The man entered the Bank of America branch in the 5800 block of Balboa Avenue at 12:35 p.m. and handed a demand note to the teller that said, “I want your 20s, 50s and 100s,” police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

Robinson said that, after the teller turned over the money, the robber said, “That’s not enough. I have a gun. I want it all.”

The teller told the robber that was all the money available, Robinson said. The robber then took the note and fled. No gun was seen.

The man is described as Latino, in his 40s, 5-foot-10 and 185 to 200 pounds. He has short black hair, a mustache, and his face is pock-marked.

He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a white emblem on the front, a blue cloth jacket and a light-colored shirt.

Robinson said the suspect matches the description of a man who robbed several San Diego area banks last year.
