Gunman on Motorcycle Shoots, Kills Pedestrian
A man was fatally wounded by a gunman riding a motorcycle in San Pedro Wednesday, police said. The shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. on 2nd Street near Centre Street, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Dennis Sebenick of the Harbor Station.
The victim was about 25. He died at San Pedro Peninsula Hospital, said Detective Rosemary Sanchez of the South Bureau Homicide Division. Sanchez said the victim had been standing with a companion when one of two men riding a motorcycle opened fire. The victim’s companion escaped injury. The victim’s name was withheld until his family could be notified.
