Region : Environmental Symposium

City planners and local activists will be featured at a symposium on how to read and respond to environmental documents for development projects.

Scheduled for Saturday, June 1, the program will be held at the Department of Water and Power headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.

Speakers include Sandy Brown of the Westside Civic Federation, Joe C. Jones of the Brentwood Community Federation, and Alan Kishbaugh and Gorden Murley of the Federation of Hillside and Canyon Assns.

Officials include Frank Eberhard, deputy director of the Los Angeles City Planning Department; Robert Janovici, deputy director; Merryl Edelstein, chief of the environmental review section, and Linn Wyatt, an environmental review staffer.

Sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Federation and co-sponsored by Westside activist groups, the program is intended to help local organizations use the California Environmental Quality Act.
