Two firefighters were injured in a fire that caused $92,000 damage to two houses and displaced four residents Friday morning, authorities said.

Fire broke out about 3 a.m. in a house at 5309 S. Arlington Ave. in Los Angeles, and soon spread to a house next door, burning until 3:36 a.m., City Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said. One firefighter suffered a dislocated shoulder and another received a knee injury while battling the flames, Acevedo said. Both were taken to Daniel Freeman Hospital for treatment, he said.

The first house sustained $78,000 damage. The house next door, at 5305 S. Arlington Ave., sustained a $14,000 loss, Acevedo said. The Red Cross was called on to find alternate lodging for four residents who were left homeless.
