PULLEN’S HOTEL
I’m currently researching a book on Harriet Pullen of Skagway, Alaska.
She first went to Skagway at the beginning of this century, with her small sons. She drove a team of horses over the passes, hauling freight for the gold prospectors. She also made and sold apple pies to the miners.
Then she built and ran a world- famous hotel in Skagway, a hotel that hosted a great many noted people. Many Californians visited Pullen’s Hotel, some making the voyage on the “Princess Louise”; any recollections of a visit would be greatly appreciated. Printed memorabilia mailed to me will be copied and carefully returned; due credit will be given in the book.
