MOORPARK : Boy, 15, Wounded in Drive-By Shooting
A 15-year-old Moorpark boy was injured in a drive-by shooting as he walked home late Friday night, sheriff’s officials said Saturday.
The youth, whose name was not released, was walking home at 11 p.m. on Bard Street near 1st Street when a gray Toyota Celica with chrome wheels drove alongside him, Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Gregg Whitesell said.
One of the people in the car asked the victim where he was from, Whitesell said. The youth answered that he was from Moorpark and was then shot in the buttocks, Whitesell said.
The juvenile did not call the police and was taken to Simi Valley Adventist Hospital by his friends, Whitesell said.
