Two Men Are Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges
Undercover police officers Monday arrested two Los Angeles men who allegedly stole more than $60,000 from a handful of Southland banks.
Anthony James Blunnie, 22, and Antonio Miguel Sanchez, 24, were being held on $60,000 bail each at the Parker Center Jail, where they were booked on suspicion of robbery, Detective Jim Grayson said. They are suspects in 18 to 20 bank robberies that began around March 29 and occurred at branch facilities along Hollywood, Sunset and Wilshire boulevards, Grayson said.
The two usually fled in cabs or in a large, dark-colored Cadillac. Authorities arrested the two at 8th and Fedora streets in Koreatown after finding the car and staking out the area, the detective said. Grayson said the last holdup allegedly committed by the two occurred Friday at the Great Western Bank branch at 7050 Hollywood Blvd.
