Colton’s Faria Wins Speedway Main Event

Mike Faria of Colton won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 3,981 in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Josh Larsen of Costa Mesa was second, Gary Hicks of Riverside was third and Louis Kossuth of Brea was fourth.

Billy Gray of Topanga Canyon won the eight-lap handicap main event. Shawn McConnell of Brea was second, Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was third, Steve Lucero of Riverside was fourth, Don Odom of Redondo Beach was fifth, Jessie Finch of Costa Mesa was sixth, Rob Pfetzing of Santa Ana was seventh and John Aden of Apple Valley was eighth.
