Cozumel Condo

A thousand thanks for your article on the Island of Cozumel (“A Chance to Help Save Sea Turtles From Extinction at Mexico Island,” April 14).

However, I do have one addition to make under your listing of where to stay. I’m writing to sing the praises of the condominium community: the Villas El Caracol. We did a great deal of research on the subject before choosing the El Caracol and weren’t disappointed. The villas are owned by Americans and are located on Avenida Benito Juarex. They are mini-haciendas, complete with three bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, stocked kitchens, dining room, living room. The managers, Juan and Nora Bernstorff, live on the premises and were more than willing to run us on errands (to the panaderia, fresh produce markets, etc.) with a little bit of notice.

All for about $90 a day split between four people. For more information, your readers can contact the American owners: Joan and Lee Glasner, 2419 N. Kedzie Blvd., Chicago 60647.
