Scott Lewis, the Angels’ starter today, has a loss and a no-decision in his past two outings. In each game he has had early difficulty, giving up two runs in the first inning to Seattle April 23 and four in the first five innings to Cleveland last Tuesday.

“If I can get away from that big inning, I’ll be all right,” Lewis said. “I haven’t been able to put a finger on (why). It’s breakdowns mechanically more than pitch selection. The selection has been good--it’s just the area where I’m throwing it.”
