A Wild Ride Wins Shuvee Handicap

ELMONT, N.Y. —
Jockey Mike Smith rode his fifth winner of the day when he guided A Wild Ride to a half-length victory Saturday in the Shuvee Handicap at Belmont Park.
A Wild Ride held off a late challenge by Buy The Firm, who finished second with Degenerate Gal third, another 2 3/4 lengths back.
A Wild Ride, carrying 119 pounds, covered 1 1/16 miles on the fast track in 1:42 2/5 and paid $10 to win.
