BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Winfield Moves Up on the RBI List
Dave Winfield will go to New York in 25th place on the career RBI list. He passed Yankee great Joe DiMaggio with his first-inning sacrifice fly Monday, which increased his career total to 1,538. . . . Shortstop Dick Schofield left the game after the rain delay after experiencing tightness in his left groin. He missed three games in April because of tightness in his right groin. . . . Luis Polonia’s steals of second in the first and second innings gave him 11, most in the AL. . . . Dave Parker, who drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, squandered a chance to record his first multiple-RBI game. Parker came to bat in the fourth with the bases loaded, but grounded out. . . . The Angels released left-hander Ed Vosberg, who was 0-1 with a 6.28 earned-run average with triple-A Edmonton.
