Laura Kerr Rivkin; Author, Screenwriter of ‘Farmer’s Daughter’

Laura Kerr Rivkin, 88, screenwriter and author who co-wrote the 1946 film “The Farmer’s Daughter.” Moving to Hollywood in 1934, she began writing in the 1940s and in 1947 won both the Photoplay Award and Look Magazine Award. Her collaboration with her late husband, Allen Rivkin, on “The Farmer’s Daughter” earned an Academy Award for actress Loretta Young. Mrs. Rivkin’s other shared credits included the book “Hello Hollywood” and screenplays “Battle Circus,” “Grounds for Marriage” and “Brazil.” On May 5 in Woodland Hills after a stroke.
