From Staff and Wire Reports

Pasadena would become one of three permanent sites for the Super Bowl under a rotation system that will be proposed by Norman Braman, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and chairman of the NFL’s site selection committee.

The proposal would have to be approved by 21 of the league’s 28 owners.

“More and more, we’re seeing that we have to streamline the process of placing the Super Bowl,” Braman said.

Braman said he will suggest this fall that the league also make Miami and New Orleans part of the Super Bowl rotation. A city outside the regular rotation would be chosen every fourth year, he said.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the idea of a rotation for the Super Bowl has been discussed but never formally proposed to the owners.
