Los Angeles police arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting and seized weapons Thursday in raids on the homes of eight alleged gang members in North Hollywood, authorities said.

Hilario Lopez, 21, of North Hollywood was being held without bail in connection with the April 28 shooting death of Holberth Rauda, 18, who was gunned down in a gang attack in North Hollywood, Detective Charles Uribe said.

Investigators suspect Jose Renteria, 20, of North Hollywood actually fired the shot that killed Rauda, but witnesses have said Lopez also fired several rounds during the midnight attack. Renteria is being held without bail on suspicion of murder.

In the early morning raids, about 48 police officers and detectives served warrants at eight locations in search of weapons that may have been used in the attack, Uribe said. Police recovered eight guns, one of which could be the handgun used in the fatal shooting, Uribe said.

Police also arrested Jerry Anaya, 20, of North Hollywood on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale after they found about a dozen plastic bags of the drug and about $400 in cash, Uribe said. Anaya was being held in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Officers also seized a few grams of cocaine at one location but made no arrests, Uribe said.
