Man Dies After Car Veers Off Freeway
An Encino man died early Thursday morning when his car flipped over after he veered off the Ventura Freeway in Sherman Oaks, authorities said.
Marcel Arevalo, 22, was driving west on the freeway near Van Nuys Boulevard about 2:50 a.m. when he swerved off the road, California Highway Patrol Officer Randy Pickens said. Arevalo’s car overturned on the freeway embankment and he was crushed in the wreckage.
Witnesses told investigators that Arevalo, who was alone in the car, had been driving fast and weaving in and out of traffic before the accident.
