Two gunmen hijacked an electronics company delivery truck full of television sets Thursday and briefly held the two employees in the truck captive, police said.

The two JVC Corp. employees called police from Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard to report they had been released by two men who stole their truck, Police Sgt. Ron Dickson said.

The delivery men told police they were pulling into JVC Corp. offices at 5665 Corporate Ave. in Cypress at 11:15 a.m. when their truck was cut off by a car driven by the gunmen, the sergeant said.

The robbers ordered the men at gunpoint out of the truck and told them to get into their car, Dickson said.

The employees, whose names were withheld, were driven around for about 45 minutes before being released in Los Alamitos, a few miles from the JVC office, police said.

The delivery truck is a blue and white Freightliner, license number 3T090453, Dickson said. It pulled an orange container with “Ocean” written on the side and an identification number of 1EAU4144381.

The truck was full of JVC televisions, but the number of TVs and the value of the load were not available, Dickson said.
