San Diego homicide detectives are investigating the apparent shooting death of a man whose body was found early Saturday on a lawn in the City Heights neighborhood.
Police discovered the victim, described only as a white male about 30 years old, about 5 a.m. on a lawn in the 4000 block of Chamoune Avenue. His pants pockets were pulled out and change was scattered nearby, police said.
The victim appeared to have been shot at least once in the back, police said. Neighbors reported hearing shots fired about 3:30 a.m., according to police.
