Back-to-back doubles by Dave Winfield and Dave Parker in the third inning represented the first time the two had consecutive hits since May 14.

Winfield was three for three and Parker was one for four. Parker expects to follow Winfield’s offensive lead soon.

“As far as I’m concerned, I have nowhere to go but up,” said Parker, who is six for his last 37 with a .188 batting average and 12 RBIs. “We’re both going to be right around 90, 100 RBIs. I see indications he’s getting ready to take off, and I think I see us both taking off. We were talking today about starting to turn it up a notch. . . “
