BOSTON — A luxury hotel has hung up the “Do Not Disturb” sign for a sparrow and her four eggs.
The sparrow laid the eggs in a balcony flower box outside a penthouse at the Bostonian Hotel, and the management is keeping the $250-a-night room vacant to avoid disturbing the nest until the eggs are hatched and the young birds learn to fly.
Ladislav Brank, the hotel’s general manager, said Friday that the facility is booked for next week except for Room 709, situated atop the seven-story hotel.
