Four juveniles were arrested during a preliminary hearing at the County Courthouse downtown in the February slaying of a South Bay teen-ager, police said Friday.

The four teen-age boys, ranging from 13 to 15 years old, surrendered to authorities about 10 a.m. Wednesday after giving testimony in the case of 16-year-old Oscar Flores, said Lt. Dan Berglund of the San Diego Police Department’s homicide unit. Two adults, Michael James, 22, and Robert Lee Hunt, 26, are already in custody at County Jail in the killing, Berglund said.

Flores was fatally stabbed Feb. 23 in the 2200 block of Palm Avenue during a confrontation with seven men believed to be gang members, Berglund said. There is no indication that Flores was a gang member, Berglund said.
