Voters Should Have Final Say
After many years of voting, I became very disillusioned after voting for the death penalty and Proposition 103.
Both have been disputed in court. Why vote, then? I considered it a waste of time, so I said, “No more.”
As a result, I did not vote in the City Council election. Had I done so, I would have voted for Julie Korenstein, who lost by a very small margin.
How many other disillusioned voters out there might have voted for Korenstein we’ll never know. I hope this message gets through to our lawmakers. When we vote, our vote should be the final voice in all issues. That’s what our system is all about.
