Two films from the deparment of film and video in Chicago’s Columbia College, Barbara Brooks’ “DP MOM”’ and Andrea Kampic’s “Emma,” screen tonight at 7:30 and again at 9 at Room 108, Warner Building, at the American Film Institute.
The 29-minute “DP MOM” charts a child’s progression toward adulthood, exploring in surreal fashion the devastating effects of her relationship with a mother who has lost touch with reality.
The 22-minute “Emma” tells of an older woman struggling to regain her equilibrium after her husband has left her.
