Man, 19, Found Guilty in Drug Dealer’s Death

A 19-year-old Sepulveda man was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of a Studio City drug dealer who cheated him in a drug deal, prosecutors said.

San Fernando Superior Court Judge John Majors convicted Ahmad Anderson on Thursday after a non-jury trial, Deputy Dist. Atty. Edward Nison said.

The charge stemmed from the death of Gary Bolden, 42. “Anderson was selling dope for Bolden,” Nison said. “Bolden was overcharging him.”

Bolden’s body was found Oct. 26, 1988, in a parking lot in the 12000 block of Foothill Boulevard, Nison said. Bolden had been shot once in the head and twice in the chest with a .32-caliber handgun.

The key piece of evidence against Anderson was a taped conversation between Anderson and his mother in which the man is heard admitting his involvement in the shooting, Nison said.

Anderson is expected to be sentenced next month to 26 years to life in prison, Nison said.
