World IN BRIEF : PERSIAN GULF : Accord Reported on Troops for Kuwait

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s visit to Kuwait ended a diplomatic spat and laid the foundations for Cairo to join an Arab force to defend Kuwait against possible attack by Iraq, diplomats said. On his way home, Mubarak told reporters: “We agreed in principle to participate in this force.” Egypt had been upset that Kuwait kept it waiting for a formal invitation to join the force, the diplomats said.
