STRICTLY SPEAKING: Three out of four Orange County residents polled said parents today are not strict enough with their kids. . . . But Costa Mesa family counselor Lee Hachey believes just the reverse is true. “Americans tend toward an authoritarian philosophy in child rearing,” he says. “When kids have problems, people blame it on lack of parental discipline. In fact, parents need to ease up and give (kids) more responsibility rather than constantly tell them what to do.”
