Keith Till, who since January has served as interim city manager, was unanimously named city manager last week by the City Council.
Till, 38, joined the city’s staff in September, 1987, as administrative services officer. Previously he worked for the city of Lancaster for more than three years as an administrative assistant and public information official.
He replaces John E. Nowak, who left the San Marino post to become city manager of Lawndale. Till’s annual salary will be $67,300.
In 1984, Till earned a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. He graduated in 1976 from Humboldt State University, where he studied journalism. For six years he worked as a newspaper reporter in Northern California.
