A murder-suicide in the Clairemont area and a body found buried beneath a cement slab in City Heights were reported by San Diego police Friday night.

In the 3700 block of Mt. Abbey Street, a man and woman were found shot to death in a car parked in a driveway. Police said the deaths were apparently a murder and suicide.

The man apparently shot his estranged wife and then turned the semi-automatic pistol on himself as the couple sat in the car, police said.

Earlier this month, the woman had obtained a restraining order against her husband and had police stand by while she removed some of her belongings from the home, officials said. Neighbors told police that the couple had apparently met Friday to try to reach a reconciliation.

In City Heights, a tip given to a police undercover agent led homicide detectives to a body buried in a shallow grave behind a duplex in the 3500 block of Chamoune Avenue, police said.

An informant reportedly told police that a Latino man had been shot Thursday, then buried with a slab of cement covering the grave. Police, armed with a search warrant, dug up the body late Friday and have begun questioning a number of suspects, officials said.
