A SPECIAL REPORT: TOURISM

Share

AIR BARGAINS: A Santa Ana corporate travel agency has come up with a way to get that hard-to-find discount airline seat. . . . Associated Travel Management sells other agents a computer program that scans airline listings every 90 minutes. . . . With airlines making as many as 200,000 changes a day in discount-seat availability, the computer keeps looking for a better deal. Company President C. Thomas Nulty, above, says the program has become popular for assigning seats as well as checking fares. “We used to get a ton of complaints about seat assignment. You could feel the anger in their voice,” he says. “I don’t get complaints anymore.”
