Western Micro Technology Inc. said Reiny C. Giesecke resigned as president, chief operating officer and a board member.

The Saratoga, Calif.-based company said Chairman and Chief Executive Marshall G. Cox will assume the additional duties of president and chief operating officer. Giesecke will remain with the company as vice president of sales and marketing for the Southwest.

Giesecke said he was stepping down from the positions because of a desire to return to Southern California.
