An early-morning fire at a Taco Bell restaurant Friday caused about $120,000 in damage, officials said.

Firefighters got the blaze, which started shortly after midnight at 5125 El Cajon Blvd., under control within a half hour, said Capt. Al Macdonald of the San Diego Fire Department.

The blaze was started by the water heater’s pilot light, which ignited nearby brooms and mops, Macdonald said.
