RE-PANELED ROOM: The merger of Orange County’s two transportation panels is expected to save the county millions, but it’s costing a little up front: Officials have to redo the meeting room to accommodate the new, bigger bunch . . . Under the old system, the Transportation Commission had seven members, while the Transit District had five. The merged board sports 11 members, and there aren’t enough seats in the County Planning Commission room. . . . The solution: Remodel the room, at a cost of $47,398.
