BELIEVE IT OR DON’T: We’ve heard all-Beatles stations. And all-Elvis stations. But an all-Merle Haggard station?! It’s strange, but true, thanks to Houston radio station KILT-AM, which recently switched--at least temporarily--from a country format to a 100% Haggard station, complete with such station I.D.’s as “Give us 20 minutes, we’ll give you the Merle.”. . . . When Joshua Pollard, a 4-year-old who was recently honored on “The Arsenio Hall Show” for saving a baby girl from drowning, was asked to name his favorite pop star, he picked Young M.C. The rapper returned the favor last week by taking Pollard on a tour of Capitol Records and his recording studio. . . . Oingo Boingo fans take note--the band’s only area show this year will be Halloween night at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. . . . And after the Alarm concluded its British tour last week, lead singer Mike Peters announced that he has left the group to pursue a solo career.
