Gang Member’s Killing by Officer Draws Protests

Share

An Inglewood police officer trying to serve a robbery warrant on a gang member Wednesday fatally wounded the fleeing man after he allegedly threatened the officer with a gun, authorities said.

But later, fellow gang members who gathered outside a heavily guarded Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital insisted that Rodney Jetter, known as “T-Bone,” was unarmed when he was shot once in the upper body.

Police said that Jetter was wanted on an armed robbery warrant and was considered armed and dangerous. Investigators converged on the shooting scene in the 3900 block of 105th Street to search for the weapon that the unidentified officer said Jetter had possessed.
