And the Band Played On: A summer storm plunged the Wolf Trap arts facility outside of Washington into darkness Sunday evening while the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra was playing Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. Without missing a beat, the orchestra continued playing during the brief power failure and completed the work as though nothing had happened. At the conclusion, the orchestra was greeted with another type of thunder--a standing ovation from the audience.
