One man was killed and another was wounded in a knife fight in a bar on Imperial Avenue, police said.
Engelberto Mota Jimenez, 32, of San Diego, died about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at Rincon Norteno de Jalisco, also known as Rincon Bar and Restaurant, at 2674 Imperial Avenue, said Lt. Dan Berglund.
His cousin, Jesus Villanueva Jimenez, 35, of San Diego, was cut in the abdomen. His condition was unknown.
According to witnesses, one of the two victims got into a pushing match with another man at the bar, Berglund said. The man left and then returned to the bar with a knife and stabbed Mota in the chest and Villanueva in the abdomen.
The killer fled in an old, dark pickup truck, Berglund said.
