An animal handler has filed a $100-million claim against the federal government because he allegedly contracted a deadly virus when he was scratched by a monkey two years ago.

Michael Zornek, 36, claims negligence by the Department of Health and Human Services in ensuring safety at the National Center for Toxicological Research in Jefferson, Ark.

He allegedly was exposed to Virus B when a 14-pound macaque scratched his hand through two pairs of gloves he was wearing.
