Three people killed in a small plane crash in Granada Hills were identified Thursday as a Sacramento man, his daughter and a family friend from New York City, the county coroner’s office said.

Pilot Stuart Robert Bargman, 50, his daughter, Andrea Beth Bargman, 24, both of Sacramento, and Jeffrey Scott Astor, 24, of New York City, were killed when the plane slammed into a shed Monday, said coroner’s spokesman Bob Dambacher. No one on the ground was injured.

Moments before the twin-engine Beechcraft Baron crashed about 5 p.m. Monday, the pilot radioed that he was having trouble and was making preparations for an emergency landing at Van Nuys Airport. The plane crashed about four miles north of the airport, narrowly missing homes in the area. The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
